Visconti Van Gogh Oiran roller
Item no: KP12-23-RB
The blooming plum orchard is the second oil painting that Visconti selected from Van Gogh's Japanese series. The artist created this painting in 1887 based on a Japanese print by Hiroshige, called Plum Garden in Kameido. The old plum tree that was the subject of the original print had the poetic nickname "the sleeping dragon plum tree." Van Gogh accurately reproduced the composition with more intense colors and replaced the black and gray of Hiroshige's trunk with red and blue shades. He also added the two orange borders with Japanese characters for a decorative and exotic effect.
The writing instrument features yellow-gilded metal fittings that add light to the red, green, and brown acrylic resin. The fountain pen comes with a new red ink called "Flowering Plum Orchard." All three versions are accompanied by a bookmark with a detail of the painting.
The name of the painting and the artist are delicately engraved around the ring of the pen, and each pen is packaged in a unique gift box that is complemented by a faithful reproduction of the painting. The pen itself features Visconti's eighteen-faceted design, with the many edges enhancing the vibrant colors of the pen.
The name Visconti has been synonymous with writing instruments of extraordinary beauty, historically and technologically studied, for twenty years. The fountain pens, rollers, and ballpoint pens from Visconti represent a wide range of high-quality instruments with a strong identity.
