Visconti Van Gogh Flowering Plum Orchard fountain pen
Item no: KP12-23-FPVF
The blooming plum orchard is the second oil painting that Visconti selected from Van Gogh's Japanese series. The artist created this painting in 1887 after a Japanese print by Hiroshige, called Plum Garden in Kameido. The old plum tree that was the subject of the original print had the poetic nickname "the sleeping dragon plum tree." Van Gogh reproduced the composition accurately with more intense colors and replaced the black and gray of Hiroshige's trunk with red and blue shades. He also added the two orange borders with Japanese characters for a decorative and exotic effect.
The writing instrument features yellow-gilded metal fittings that add light to the red, green, and brown acrylic resin. The fountain pen comes with a new red ink called "Flowering Plum Orchard." All three versions are accompanied by a bookmark with a detail of the painting.
The name of the painting and the artist are delicately engraved around the ring of the pen, and each pen is packaged in a unique gift box that is complemented by a faithful reproduction of the painting. The pen itself utilizes Visconti's design with eighteen facets, where the many edges enhance the vibrant colors of the pen.
The Flowering Plum Orchard fountain pen is equipped with the large steel Visconti nib, featuring the signature of Vincent van Gogh.
