Parker 51 Premium turquoise GT ballpoint pen
Item no: 2169080
The Parker 51 Premium Turquoise GT ballpoint pen. The type designation "51" was no coincidence, Parker had named all his models until then, but had come to the conclusion that if a model was given a name, this name detracted from the name of the brand. A number would therefore be more appropriate for the new pen, also because a number has the same meaning in all languages. A trial run of the newly developed pen was released in 1939, which was the 51st year of the Parker Pen Company's existence. The pen was therefore given the type number "51" - according to the official version of the factory.
The new "51" is identical in silhouette to the original. The shape of the nib and the way in which the pen closes is different. The nib is not tube-shaped but has a traditional nib, but this nib is completely hidden in the front part of the pen. This construction ensures that the pen always starts easily and does not dry out quickly. Furthermore, the new Parker 51 has a screw cap.
For those interested who want to read all the ins and outs about this new Parker 51, there is a wonderful book available that reviews all 51 models.
If you choose the engraving option, keep in mind that the engraving will be placed on the holder of the pen.
