The Aurora 88 fountain pen, first manufactured in 1947 as a response to the Parker 51, is the most successful pen of this brand. The fountain pen features a perfectly functioning piston system and advanced ink feed, developed in collaboration with Aurora and the famous designer, Marcello Nizzoli.
Unique to this Aurora 88 is the hidden ink reservoir that allows you to write at least a few more pages before it is truly empty. Due to this technical innovation, the 88 was the first pen to secure a place in the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology in Milan.
The "Aurora 88" was reintroduced in 1980. The extremely smooth piston mechanism houses an ingeniously hidden ink reservoir good for a few more pages, and the beautifully crafted 14-carat gold nib possesses excellent writing qualities. The cap features a strong "ball clip."
Aurora is an Italian manufacturer of writing instruments that was founded in 1919. The Aurora pens are still produced in their original factory in Turin, Northern Italy.
