19. Red Hague plush - Akkerman fountain pen ink

€14,01 EUR

The faceted ink bottle is distinguished by its long neck, which contains a glass marble. Akkerman fountain pen ink is suitable for any type of fountain pen and available in 31 sparkling colours. The ink colours have been given names with a Hague twist

What makes this bottle so unique? By tilting the sealed ink bottle, the neck fills with ink. When stood upright again, the marble falls back and prevents the ink from flowing back. This creates a reservoir of ink above the marble, from which the fountain pen can be filled easily, even when the jar is almost empty.

#19 Red Hague Velvet

Hague Velvet, also meaning a government position or a seat in the cabinet, is seen as something attractive that one is reluctant to give up. The expression became popular in the mid-1980s and was probably launched by CDA MP Huib Eversdijk. The Red Hague velvet, in other words, the wealthy people in the 17th century often wore velvet and lived on a prestigious canal, as evidenced by the street name Fluwelen Burgwal, which occurs in both The Hague and Monnickendam.
