15. Voorhout violet - Akkerman fountain pen ink
The faceted ink bottle is characterized by the long neck containing a glass marble. Akkerman fountain pen ink is suitable for any type of fountain pen and available in 31 sparkling colors. The ink colors have been given names with a Hague flavour
What makes this bottle so unique? By tilting the sealed ink bottle, the neck fills with ink. Set upright again, the marble falls back and prevents the ink from flowing back. This creates a reservoir of ink above the marble from which the fountain pen can easily be filled, even when the jar is almost empty.
#15. Voorhout violet
The Lange and Korte Voorhout with their beautiful lime trees are called that because this used to be an offshoot of the Hague forest, also known as the fore-forest or Voorhout. In the 14th century, the Voorhout was full of houses standing at odd angles and was not as beautiful as it is now. Only a century later did it take on its current form and small gardens appear. The beautiful tree-lined avenue is thanks to Emperor Charles V, who saw how the village of Die Haghe was becoming increasingly crowded and decided to merge the gardens into the broad avenue. Violet is the color that gives artists, mystics, and spiritually developed people their inspiration. It is the color of trust, intuition, and mysticism.
