12. Mauritshuis Magenta - Akkerman fountain pen ink

€14,01 EUR

The faceted ink bottle is distinguished by its long neck, which contains a glass marble. Akkerman fountain pen ink is suitable for any type of fountain pen and available in 31 sparkling colours. The ink colours have been given names with a Hague twist

What makes this bottle so unique? By tilting the closed ink bottle, the neck fills with ink. When set upright again, the marble falls back and prevents the ink from flowing back. This creates a reservoir of ink above the marble, from which the fountain pen can be filled easily, even when the bottle is almost empty.

#12. Mauritshuis Magenta

The original stately city palace for Johan Maurits on the Hofvijver in The Hague is owned by the Dutch state and serves as a museum. The pure colour magenta can only be obtained by mixing equal amounts of red and blue and is described as a purplish red. Unlike the beautiful paintings in the Mauritshuis, the colour magenta is only rarely used by painters because the pure hue cannot be obtained by mixing paints.
