The M1000 black fountain pen is the largest model in the Pelikan Souverän series, in terms of size an equivalent of the Montblanc 149. This large M1000 is, in addition to its extraordinary size, distinguished by its special writing properties. The large nib has a high degree of flexibility, allowing clear line nuances with low pressure. The M1000 is one of the few contemporary fountain pens that is capable of this. The fountain pen is filled by means of a fixed piston mechanism, standard with the entire Souverän range. The entire mechanism is made of brass and gives the pen a little more weight. The entire container is made of black resin with an ink window, so that the ink supply is always visible. The nib is made of 18 karat gold with a rhodium mask. The familiar clip, in the shape of a pelican beak, is gilded, just like the other fittings.
