Nakaya Dorsal Fin 1 Suzu Ishime (Kikyo) Fountain Pen - Pre-Order
Item no: 07012-DF1-74
This model has a fin on the cap that functions as a roll stopper. It is designed with the image of a knife. It is "Suzu Ishime" which uses "roasted tin powder" instead of Kanshitsu (dry lacquer) powder. By using the roasted tin powder, the finish of the material could be created. This Suzuishime blue lacquer uses blue lacquer for the base, making the finish lighter than that of the black base and giving it a more silvery appearance.
"Ishime" is made using a special technique that creates a stone-like texture on the surface. When the dry lacquer powder is sprinkled onto a lacquered surface, surface tension occurs and the powder gathers in certain spots. Use the clumps that have formed by chance, apply the lacquer in layers, let it set, and then polish it to create "Ishime." It will be the "cobblestone-like" finish in the garden.
