All fittings on the collection are champagne gold plated. The clip is engraved with his initials; JFK. The three rings on the wide brim represent his three brothers; Joseph, Robert and Edward. The pattern of these cap rings is also inspired by the footprints of the first steps on the moon, while his vision to send a man to the moon is also immortalized by the engraving of the lunar lander on the 14 carat gold nib. The double rings on the holder refer to his rank as a Lieutenant during World War II, where he commanded a motor torpedo boat.
