Montblanc Writers Edition William Faulkner Set (2007)

Montblanc's Writers Edition Series 2007 honors a great modern American author, William Faulkner. Born in 1897 in the Mississippi Hills to a longstanding Southern family, William Faulkner invented an entire region as the setting for his novels. More than a dozen of his works are set in Yoknapatawpha County, a fictional area in Mississippi. In novels such as 'The Sound and the Fury' and 'Light in August', Faulkner explored behind the bourgeois facade of the Southern states and drew the reader into a web of crumbling values ​​and family dramas. Faulkner broke new ground with his writing style.

Like James Joyce and Virginia Woolf, he experimented with the narrative techniques of the inner monologue, interwoven plot lines, and ambitious changes of time and perspective, making him a pioneer of modern American literature. In 1950, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner William Faulkner received the Nobel Prize in Literature for his "powerful and artistically unique contribution to the modern American novel." The Montblanc William Faulkner collection uses two highly contrasting materials to underline the tension that was present in the southern states during Faulkner's lifetime. Platinum-plated metal in a ribbed design forms the center of the holders, while the edges of the writing instruments are made of dark green resin. Montblanc's William Faulkner limited edition edition includes 16,000 numbered fountain pens, 18,000 numbered ballpoint pens and 4,000 numbered mechanical pencils.

A total of 4,000 sets were released, with each set containing one of each of the aforementioned writing instruments. The fountain pens have an 18kt white gold nib with an exclusive engraving for the edition. They use a piston filling system, measure 13.7 cm with cap and weigh 43.2 grams. The ballpoint pens are 13.6 cm long and weigh 45.5 grams. The mechanical pencils are 13.8 cm long and weigh 48.9 grams. The set mentioned here is new, from our own collection and has never been used or sold. It is in overall new condition and comes with a complete box and accompanying documents.
