€0 EUR

A unique Phoenix Lacquer Art set dedicated to the "Tudors". Only five sets will be produced, with a miniature of Henry VIII on one pen and a miniature of Elisabeth I on the other equally numbered pen.

In 1485 the Tudors came to power: Henry VII became king of England and Wales. In 1509, after his death, Henry VIII took over the throne from his father. He was the man who married six wives and cast them off in a sometimes permanent way if he didn't like them. Children were born from three of his marriages. The youngest, Eduard VI, Henry's only surviving legal son whom he gave birth to with his third wife Jane Seymour, became king in 1547 after his father died. However, his kingship did not last long, because six years later he died, presumably of pneumonia. His elder sister, Maria I from Henry VIII's first marriage to Catharina van Aragorn, took over the throne. She is also known as "Bloody Mary" because of her bloody crackdown on Protestants during her reign. When she died in 1558, Elizabeth I took over: the daughter from Henry's second marriage to Anne Boleyn. She became one of the most influential monarchs and is considered one of the greatest heads of state of all time. She was nicknamed "Virgin Queen" virgin queen because she remained unmarried and thus childless until her death. For that reason, after her death in 1603, the Tudor dynasty came to an end.tie.

The base of this Phoenix Lacquer Art fountain pen comes from the Visconti factories in Italy, hand-turned from one piece of ebonite. The pens are equipped with Visconti's so-called "high-vacuum mechanism", with which the pen can be filled "in one stroke with the piston", due to the built-up vacuum. A tried and tested concept from our own house, which Visconti has used successfully for decades in the more prestigious pens limited editions. The oversized nib is made of 18 karat gold.d.

Every fountain pen from Phoenix Art is one-of-a-kind. These pens have been painted with inimitable precision, using techniques from Russian lacquer miniature art. The unique Tudors set is painted according to the Fedoskino school with oil paint, silver filligrain and lacquer. Only five sets will be produced.

The pen comes packaged in a luxurious wooden lacquered set box, with certificate.
