Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle fountain pen
The new 2021 Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Limited Edition pays tribute to the father of Sherlock Holmes, one of the most famous writers of crime novels.
The pen is made of blue-grey precious resin, which evokes the atmosphere of dark, sinister London, where Sherlock Holmes solves his crimes. The cap and body of the pen are decorated with a diamond pattern that references Holmes's plaid coat and with parts of a historic map of the city of London. The center ring bears the author's signature, the logo of his first novel 'A Study in Scarlet' and the inscription October 30, 1886, the date Arthur Conan Doyle found a publisher for his first book.
The clip is shaped like a magnifying glass, revealing the initials JB. This is a reference to Joseph Bell, the man on whom the Sherlock Holmes character is based. At the very top is an ophthalmoscope (ophthalmoscope), a reference to Doyle's medical background. The Montblanc logo crowns the top of the pen as usual.
The handcrafted 18k gold nib is engraved with a portrait of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and some of the dinosaurs featured in his book 'The Lost World'.
